Dear Guardian Families,
Summer is just getting started and this is a great time to encourage your students to keep reading during the break.
The benefits of summer reading are well documented, including the maintenance of literacy skills and preventing "summer slide" or learning loss. Students who engage in summer reading make gains in reading proficiency, increase their vocabulary, and learn to make reading for pleasure a life-long habit.
Summer reading is required for students entering grades 3-12 and optional for students entering grades K-2. Each book cover below links to the grade-specific reading list or assignment.
